Mr. Larsen has been the VV adviser for several years. When he is not teaching, he is striving to make the RHS DECA program the boss-est DECA program in America. His personal hero is Captain James T. Kirk (old school Star Trek) and he, like Hanna Vincent, despises bad coffee. Along with Rowenboss (aka Sarah Rowen), he hopes to get the VV into the 21st century and established as a permanant online presence.
Sarah Rowen is this year's editor-in-chief and could not be anymore excited about it. She is a senior and this is her fourth and final year on the VV. When she is not working on the VV she plays basketball, is an active member of DECA, and works at Beadles Bead Shop in downtown Rockport. In the summer she can be found at the beach with friends or shopping in Boston.
Hanna Vincent is a senior at Rockport High School . She's been a member of the Viking Voice since freshman year and is now Chief of Staff of this illustrious newspaper. Hanna has an obsession with Cafe Bishco frozen yogurt and despises bad coffee. Hanna currently intends on majoring in biology and is a volunteer with Pathways for Children. She writes various articles on how to deal with the stresses of high school and comes up with the trivia for the Viking Voice.
Ekin Bakkal is currently a high school senior and 3 year veteran of the Viking Voice, and looks very good in a suit. He is probably the best meat eater in the world, and doesn't really like the beach. One of his life goals is to be called sir without it being followed by, "please step out of the vehicle." As the resident comedian of the VV, he writes articles that make people smile and laugh. Sometimes he just wants to give up and become a handsome millionaire, but is just honored to be included. Read his articles for a good laugh to get you through 11:40.
Alexandra Legendre (a.k.a. RHS Queen) as she has been referred to, is a senior at Rockport High School this year. Though this is her second and final year as a columnist for the Viking Voice, she has loved every second of it. Alexandra loves being a RHS Drama Llama Leader, iced chai's from Brother's Brew, adventuring with her best friends, and spends most of her time either working, reading, singing, acting or obsessing over her favorite movie ever, Titanic. Her personal accomplishment in life this far includes not repeating a single outfit from September 2012- January 2013. She also volunteers at Beverly Hospital every week and plans on majoring in Pediatric Nursing. Alexandra currently writes the Teacher of the Month column as well as a few other random pieces. Look for her articles and if you have questions for the TOM be sure to ask her.
Anna Johnson is a senior who enjoys reading and writing. Among her favorite authors are Jack Kerouac, Leo Tolstoy, and J.D. Salinger. Although she has just recently begun to write for the VV, Anna hopes to become more involved in her last year at RHS, and she is very excited to be a part of such a creative and talented group.
Nick Endicott is a sophomore who loves writing. His favorite things to write are 'little satirical pieces' and geographical columns. He also likes to write very deep, probing, and existential poetry that can rot one to their core in a series of rhyming realizations.
Fiona Noring is a sophomore at RHS and a columnist for the VV. She loves reading, especially John Green and Vonnegut. She’s a huge art fan and a RHS Drama Llama. Fiona also interns at the Cape Ann Community Cinema in Gloucester and spends most of her time there, watching obscure foreign films with subtitles that are too small to read.
Mary has been on the Viking Voice staff since the very beginning of her freshman year, and finds it to be the best publication she has ever had the honor of writing for. It is also the only, but she doesn’t let that stop her from recklessly promoting it. When she is not crafting articles on everything from Twilight to nostalgic frozen yogurt, she hangs out with the Rockport Drama Llamas doing anything they need her too, which mostly involves zipping up dresses and sassing the actors. Mary’s life goal is to be the female, Australian John Green, but if that can’t be achieved, she’ll settle for being female and Australian.
